Chinese Patent Data offering at Matrixware
Last changed: Feb 09, 2010 14:02 by Elisabeth Piveteau

Matrixware introduces CNALERT, a new alerting service on Chinese patent data. Alerts can be set up based on customers' specific search criteria and frequency. They are available 11 days after official publication and include manually translated titles and abstracts in English, Matrixware's own statistical machine-translated (SMT) full text in English and the Chinese full text.

Click here to take a look at a month's sample set of data.

Matrixware's Statistical Machine Translation (SMT) is a phrase-based system trained on bilingual aligned sentences (Chinese-English) from human-translated patents. The results are less readable than human translations, but they do provide good recall and precision and a quality proven to be better than competitors. For more information about the machine translation process, download the machine translation fact sheet

The following Chinese patent data is available from Matrixware today:

  • CN full-text data in Chinese from 2008 to present
  • CN full-text SMT translations in English from 1985 to present
  • CN human translated titles and abstracts in English from 2008 to present

Matrixware is constantly improving on the quality of its SMT translation engines and is expanding to other Asian languages such as Japanese and Korean.

If you would like to find out more about Matrixware's Chinese data offering or have a free trial of the CNALERT service, please contact: ProfessionalServices@matrixware.com
