The attached Acrobat page shows that pages can easily be moved in the hierarchy.

  • Edit the subject page (after logging in)
  • Go to the location area of the page, just below the "Minor Change" box that you should click in order to avoid sending a "watch" email message to all "watchers" of the page.
  • Then just by drag-and-drop to the spot in the hierarchy. If the new location is expandable, you must expand the new location before dragging the file to it. Otherwise, the file will not drop below the target page.

For example, let's consider that a user created a new page but meant for it to be in the Discussion Forum. That would have happened if used the Add New Page function rather than use the Add Topic link on the main Discussion Forum page. After any page is created, its place in the hierarchy is clear in the left-side navigation panel. In this example, if the page were not under the Discussion Forum, "watchers" of the Discussion Forum would not have received an email notification unless they were watching the whole space. The user should edit the page, go down to the location box, expand the Forum - PIUG Discussion entry, and then drag-and-drop the page to the Forum - PIUG Discussion.

Normally, a user should check the "[] Minor Change?" box to keep an email notification from going out for minor changes. In this example, the user would want a new notice going out to all who are watching the Discussion Forum, so the "[] Minor Change?" box should not be checked this time.

Play in the Sandbox space if you want to practice.
