Thomson Reuters Launches Thomson Innovation 2.1

Thomson Reuters is pleased to announce the launch of Thomson Innovation 2.1, featuring the following new content, enhancements and functionality:

  • Japanese Utility Models in English from January 2008
  • Translations on Demand from English, French and Spanish to a multitude of languages
  • Linking to patent records from PDF exports
  • Ability to view patent images in Microsoft Excel
  • New DWPI search options: Basics only, Basics + Equivalents in the same family, Assignee Code specification, and country code + kind code as part of the same field
  • New Citation Mapping functionality including creating maps from literature documents, timeline views for patent and literature maps, and the ability to search node text in both patent and literature maps
  • Plus more

    It should be noted, with all due respect, that, contrary to the claim at the Thomson Innovation link above to be "...the only information provider that offers Japanese full text patent data in English...," Questel offers full-text Japanese utility models and patent applications in English from January 2006 onwards.  Questel's JPFULL database is available at no additional charge in our QPAT service and via our traditional online system.  Pierre Buffet will be presenting an update of Questel's Asian coverage at the EPO East Meets West meeting in Vienna next week.
