Confluence pages are written in a simple markup language based on Textile. By using this simple markup Confluence makes it easy for your team to create and share content together.

The best way to learn the markup is just to edit this (or any other) page, and start typing.

When editing, look at the full notational guide on the lower right-hand side of the page for quick tips on how to insert headings, lists (even nested bullet-points), tables, and so on.

Here's a short example of some typical markup:

Titles can be easily built using

Text can be emphasized, bolded, cited, deleted, inserted, used as ^superscript or as _subscript, monospaced, used as %a span%, given in bq.blockquotes bq.,.

Text can be _emphasized_, *bolded*, ??cited??, -deleted-, +inserted+, 
used as ^superscript^ or as ~subscript~, 
used as %a span%, given in bq.blockquotes bq., and {{monospaced}}.

Colors can be employed by simply using the name of the color with the color macro: blue, orange,
green, red, purple, etc..

or, you can specify a RGB value in hexadecimal .
