It isn't too late to register for the PIUG 2017 Annual Conference.  It promises to be a great program this year.  We have lots of vendor workshops.  We have a fee workshop by Stephen Adams.  We have workshops from the EPO and the USPTO that can be signed up for on the workshop page  I know the vendors appreciate if you sign up for their workshops as well so they can plan ahead.

Don't forget to make your hotel reservations.  The group rate ends soon.  It is really important that you stay at the conference hotel.  The financial reason is that PIUG is obligated to a certain number of room nights and that is part of how we pay for the meeting space.  From a practical point of view, the annual meeting is a wonderful way to network with one another.  Our meetings go all day with many evening activities as well.  If you are staying at the hotel, it is much easier to have those interactions with fellow members.  There are a few nearby hotels, but they aren't walkable so it would mean incurring transportation costs every day.

Another exciting perk will be a meeting app.  We should be rolling that out shortly.  It will be a little fancier than last year's app, but still give you schedule information, information about sponsors and exhibitors, ways to connect with fellow attendees, and a fun game to encourage you to talk with our sponsors and exhibitors.

The business meeting this year will have a call-in number so that you can hear it and participate even if you can't attend in person.  More information will be sent out closer to the date, but mark your calendars for Sunday May 21 from 4-5:30 pm Eastern time.  There will be a report from the board on the state of PIUG plus reports from all of the committees.  We would also like to have some discussion on the meetings.  Are we having the right number of meetings (currently 3, Biotech, Annual and Northeast)?  Are there things that we should be doing differently at the meetings (shorten annual?)?

Big thank you's go to the planning committee; Heather Simmons, Stephen Adams, Jane Thompson, Malcolm Hallam and Ken Koubek along with Admin - Tom Wolff, Seth Mendelson and our meeting planner Erin Fontana plus other people that I am sure I am forgetting.

Looking forward to seeing you all in Atlanta!
