The second PIUG-CPAC Asia 2017 Session was successfully held on September 6, 2017 at the China National Convention Center, Beijing, China, in conjunction with the two-day China Patent Annual Conference (CPAC). PIUG was recognized with a Loyal Partner Award trophy for our partnership with CPAC, contributing towards the success of CPAC since its inception 8 years ago. This year, approximately 8,000 attendees participated in CPAC.
The PIUG-CPAC Asia 2017 Session Planning Committee would like to thank the speakers for their engaging participation and excellent presentations.
- John Zabilski, PIUG Education & Training Committee Chair
- Yugong Cheng, Patent Research Consultant, Eli Lilly
- Christophe Mazenc, Director, Global Databases Division, World Intellectual
Property Organization (WIPO)
- Daming Chen, Associate Researcher, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences
- Nigel Clarke, Manager, Patent Information Research, European Patent Office (EPO)
Special thanks to our CPAC colleagues, specifically Ms. Ren Li, for the great collaboration and for providing superb logistical support throughout the session.
More than 100 attendees participated in the session. Many asked questions and several attendees stayed behind after the session to engage in discussions with the speakers and exchange contact information.
The PIUG-CPAC Asia 2017 session provided attendees the opportunity to learn from experienced patent information professionals, to network with fellow patent information professionals and to share experiences in new patent searching tools/resources. It was also an excellent opportunity for them to learn about PIUG, the International Society for Patent Information Professionals.
PIUG Mission accomplished!
