Registration for the PIUG 2019 Annual Conference will be opening very soon. We have some exciting opportunities this year. On Saturday May 4 will be Patent Basics training and Patent Search Fundamentals training. This is an abbreviated version of our full training. Sunday will be the usual vendor workshops, business meeting, and opening reception. Monday will be the usual plenary with the keynote speaker from the USPTO and the day will end with a workshop from the USPTO and EPO on the future of the CPC. The gala dinner will be in the evening. Tuesday will have a panel discussion on some joint projects with the EPO, WIPO and PIUG. The day will end with a workshop from EPO. Wednesday, the plenary will end at lunch and there will be a choice of three workshops in the afternoon. Thursday will be the STN Patent Forum as usual. Keep an eye on PIUG 2019 Annual Conference Overview web page for more information as it becomes available.
Don't forget the Stu Kaback Business Impact Award this year. We modified the requirements some to make it easier to apply. () The deadline is March 22.
Our first webinar series will be starting in a couple of weeks. Tony Trippe will be talking about patent analytics (Patent Analytics Webinars). We expect this to be the first offering of webinars for our members.
Thank you to all the volunteers that make these great events happen. I hope to see many of you at the annual meeting. As always, please contact me if you have any suggestions or feedback.
