Duties

Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) has an immediate opening for a Help Desk Specialist in the Sales Department. The Help Desk Specialist works in a dynamic, interactive team environment. The candidate answers customer inquiries related to STN command language, STN databases, CAS database content and indexing, STN and SciFinder search strategies, and how-to-use CAS products and services. 

Responsibilities include devising win-win solutions for customers, developing search strategies for complex technical inquiries, handling service failures, and optimizing Help Desk operations. In addition to delivering high quality customer service, the candidate fulfills support functions for the Sales Department. For instance, the candidate may create customer training aids, participate in cross-divisional teams for product rollouts, test CAS products, and/or conduct customer training.
